Ingredients:
Frozen Green Peas | 1 cup |
Paneer | 1/2 lb (approx 250 gms) |
Onion | 1 small |
Tomatoes | 3 |
Ginger | 1 inch piece\1 tsp paste |
Cornstarch | 1 tbsp |
Oil | 2 tbsp |
Chilly Powder | 1 tsp |
Coriander Powder | 2 tsp |
Turmeric | 1/4 tsp |
Garam Masala | 1/4 tsp |
Asafetida/Hing | 1/4 tsp |
Bay leaves | 2 |
Cinnamon | 1 |
Cumin Seeds | 1/2 tsp |
Salt | to taste |
Method:
Blend the tomatoes and ginger together to make a paste.
Mix cornstarch with 2 tbsp water and keep aside.
Heat oil. Add asafetida, bay leaves, cinnamon and cumin seeds, sauté for a minute.
Add onion and sauté on medium high till slightly brown.
Add chilly powder, coriander powder and turmeric. Sauté for a minute.
Add the ginger-tomato paste and salt. Cover and cook on medium high for 5-6 mins.
Add 1/2 cup water. Add peas. Cover and cook on medium high for 5-6 mins.
Add Paneer. Cook covered for another 3-4 mins.
Add Garam Masala and corn starch. Cook for 2 mins.
Serve Hot
